Changing animals

Well, I am selling out goats and going with alpacas. People don't eat them. Bought 8, 4 females and 4 males. Maybe two more fiber males later. One baby due any day, then breed back all four females after that. Eleven months gestation, long time, maybe sell some or kept building my herd. So far do good

Alpacas

I am buying alpacas.. 8 of them..... Crazy, maybe... I got a real good deal on them... So I am happy and will give this a try... Selling a lot of goats... 5 went yesterday... more later..
this warm weather is crazy.....loving it...

Very sad, the doe I was watching had her kids and they were dead..I do not know what happen...But she had the best kids last year so I am bummed...

Waiting and waiting on 6 does to have kids, one doe has a huge udder so I expect she will go first... She usually has great kids... Triplets would be nice....another doe is getting very big, so she should be next...
Sold 4 doelings yesterday and they will go in Feb...Maybe some of my little bucklings also.. Great....
Our weather is up and down, today 60 but back to 40's for the next few days and then back to 60's....I so do not like cold weather. i wear so many layers... I know how children feel...

Christmas 2011

I went to the 11pm service at Church.. When I cam home a rooster was crowing over and over again... Made me think of what they say about at midnight... All the goats were eating hay., the night was mild...
I had a doe die before Christmas and that made me sad.. She had a 6 wks old doeling.   She is doing well. 

My life has been interesting... I had 10 kids born around thanksgiving. I wasn't planning for them.... But all are well and growing like weeds. I should have more in Feb and maybe May... Life is never dull around here...

I was watching my main buck court his does. He is a lover. He rubs them, smell them and talks to them. then he might breed them. I thought the season was over but now he is all stinky again and going after does. This last mating put me into Feb...I thought the month of Dec would be my kid month. Now who knows
